TOGETHER FOR THE OASIS: OFFICIAL INAUGURATION IN APRIL 2024

The Affiliated WWF Oasis Castel Romano is an 11-hectare area rich in natural resources to be explored and protected. The project was born from the desire of Castel Romano Designer Outlet to enhance an area previously unknown to the public and make it accessible to the local community through special routes. A protected place where children can be educated to respect the environment and spend a pleasant day in nature. A new project that concretely underlines our commitment to environmental protection in line with EVOLVE, McArthurGlen's program for a more sustainable future.

The area will be accessible from 5 different points, with the main entrance at parking lot C5, and will be enriched by areas dedicated to different activities to discover. "Felipacchiotto" was the project of Spanish artist Felipe Cardeña in collaboration with WWF: an unpublished work to promote the WWF Oasis as a place to preserve protected species such as the wolf (Canis lupus). In his works, Felipe mixes elements from different worlds. He decontextualizes the figures to put them in a collage pattern - full of flowers and decorative elements - such as excerpts from paintings of art history, comics, oriental drawings and writings, to the point that he constructs on canvas a melting pot that mixes East and West, past and present.
Today, his public and urban art actions are carried out by a crew of boys – the Felipe Cardeña Crew – who recreate the floral and colorful modules of his paintings with different techniques, from collage to stencil to painting in the form of publications.
